A display for Apple’s next-generation Pro iPhone, often referred to as the “iPhone 20 Pro,” has been spotted in the supply chain, according to a claim.

IT outlet 9to5Mac reported on Tuesday that additional indications suggest a new design close to an all-glass front is still under way, contrary to recent speculation that Apple has cancelled its next iPhone design.

The key is the display. Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station said the screen component for the device has been confirmed in Apple’s supply chain. The panel also aligns with what the market has expected. Apple has been discussed as potentially applying a more advanced version of the visual effect created by the Apple Watch display so the front of the device looks like a single sheet of glass. It is a method that makes the screen appear to wrap to the edges of the device.

Market views on the project have diverged this week. One Apple analyst claimed Apple dropped the plan after deciding the technical difficulty was too high. Mark Gurman (마크 거먼) of Bloomberg said, “That’s not true,” and said the 2027 launch schedule remains unchanged. With Digital Chat Station also citing supply-chain indications, the view is gaining weight that it is hard to say development itself has been halted.

The device does not yet have an official name. Some have seen it as potentially launching under a separate brand, while others have classified it as an extension of the next Pro model. Another view is that it could be called the “iPhone 20 Pro,” skipping generation numbering to reflect the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.

The design direction itself aligns with a long-running concept inside Apple. Former Apple design chief Jony Ive (조니 아이브) has frequently mentioned a vision of an iPhone that is effectively a single sheet of glass. Apple is known to have continued pushing this concept even after Ive left the company.

Another leaker, Ice Universe, has previously described a screen of a similar form. Digital Chat Station said what it confirmed in the supply chain is very similar to that description. The outlet wrote that these indications reinforce its existing view that even if this is not the end point of the “single sheet of glass” vision, next year’s design will be a very important step in that direction.

So far, what has been confirmed remains limited to supply-chain-stage indications and leaker claims. Further information will be needed to confirm what name Apple will actually use, whether the 2027 launch schedule will be maintained and how far the display will be implemented to wrap around the edges.
